Sugaring my Crown

I am a feeler.   All my life I have had big emotions but for a long time I pushed them down deep, self-medicating with drugs and alcohol.   I was trying to fill up with numbness so I didn’t have to feel anything at all.   Now that drugs and alcohol no longer serve me and the life I live, I use my first “drug” of choice - FOOD.   More specifically – SUGAR.   I turn to sugar for all occasions and it calls to me.   It is a craving that is almost unstoppable.   Sugar helps me to turn off the feelings and forget for a little while.   Sugar was my first addiction. vibe vīb/ noun: 1 . a person's emotional state or the atmosphere of a place as communicated to and felt by others. tribe /trīb/ noun: 1. a distinctive close-knit group Your vibe attracts your tribe; in any and all conditions.   I know that this is true from my own personal experience.   In active addiction I surrounded myself with like-minded people; people that drank and drugged like I did.   Spending all of my time with others that lived the same way I did made bad behavior seem normal.  At the height of my addiction I was selfish, self- centered, greedy and in full flight from reality.  I was doing terrible, ugly things to keep existing and I was engaging with people doing the same.  My low vibe attracted individuals of the same low vibration. I truly had no idea that my energy was so negative and in turn invited more negativity into my life. It has been exactley 1 year since we got permanent symbols of our Coven.  Having a safe place to share, grow, fall, stand tall and be supported is essential for women.  I am compelled to share with you what this looks and feels like.     This is my ode to our Coven   •We celebrate together.   We lift each other up and celebrate our triumphs. When they succeed, I succeed. When one of us has good news we ALL have good news. It’s in our separate success we move forward, and celebrate together.  •We support each other.  When one of us flounders the others are there to keep her above water. When things go awry, as it does on occasion, I KNOW my sisters will be there for me, just as I am there for them. Day or night, by phone or in person we support each other.  •We are committed to each other. ...
